    I’ve loved your videos as I’ve gotten started foiling this summer. I’m wondering what kind of boat you have? I’ve gone behind a ski boat and managed to drop the rope for a period but have trouble keeping the wave. I ride an infinity 76 and I’m about 185. Maybe a bigger foil would help? Any tips would be appreciated!

    I'm guessing it was to save money but they should have fused that bottom fuselage adapter piece inside the mast at the factory ...would make it more solid. That's what Neil Pryde does with their aluminum masts very solid build.

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO 8 дней назад

      Interesting point. Either the mast or the fuse. I'm guessing Armie had a reason. When I rode it -- it was solid. No vibration or downside to the design choice. We typically would feel any looseness in the first 10 turns -- didn't happen. Solid. Thank you for checking out the video! Appreciate it! hope you have a great foiling summer Half-Life Crew

    Hey guys we love your videos, can we get some more videos on instructional on foiling. I just saw the other day about coming into a wake where you call it getting lawn chaired. I am so lucky I had a thick foam lifejacket. Wish It was even thicker, just one slightly broken rib. I was trying to go out heel side pump around and circle back to the third. How-ever I cant pump hard enough to get a 180 on glide. Please recommend to people to wear an absolutely thick lifejacket. Dude that foil just disappeared under my legs, and of course it's not like you can jump off of it. It was 10000% my fault for not giving up when I knew there was no chance, so I hooked a turn right on 3rd wave!!!! Such a sick sport.

    What foil are you using, and what position. Also mounted on the board what position is the foil base at on the board. Thanks We have a 76 infinity foil, on a 90cm mast in the A position and on the 1 position on the board. Any recommendations would be great because its definitely not easy lol

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO 12 дней назад

      Yes! Get a shorter mast. Typical for wake foiling is 72cm or so. We ride a performance 795 mast from Armstrong but that's as long as we would recommend. If I remember right I'm on the 84cm front wing....but it could be the 99 - regardless - slow moving. For the 76 infinity - about mid track should work depending upon your size. Here's a video of Jeff and I talking slingshot that may be helpful for you: Mast Position - Half-Life: ruclips.net/video/8Oo0VnAtzSE/видео.html Jeff mcKee of Slingshot: ruclips.net/video/-uFKEW23dmU/видео.html Hope this helps! Another great video! I've been riding a HS1250 behind the boat and I really like it except I have trouble consistently pumping back to catch 2nd and 3rd waves. I also have the HS1850 and can pump easily with it but don't find it as fun behind the boat. I have gained a little weight recently 205lbs, I'm wondering if the MA1225 would allow me the same carving characteristic as the 1250, but with better pumping?

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO Месяц назад

      Hi Richard - thank you for checking out the video! Glad you're having a good time out there foiling. A couple ideas for you: 1) Add a 50cm fuselage to your quiver -- fun for HS1250 and the HS1850. 2) Add a V200 tail to ride with your HS1850 - it will loosen the ride up 3) Be sure to increase your pump cadence when you go to pump the HS1250 -- its a quicker cadence and keep it high! Now....to answer your actual question. Yes - the MA1225 (I like it with the V200 tail) is very responsive and has more glide than the 1250. Just remember to move it up in the mast track compared to the HS. You could also go with a MA1475 but it sounds like you'd like a looser ride. We have it all in stock so if you'd like to buy from us (which we always appreciate) just drop us a line -- email Halflifet.5@gmail.com or call us at (909) 698-0401 Best Tim

    Much as I hate a slick sales guy, he is terrible! I'm interested in the bike but he just planted more seeds of doubt than convinced me it was the one. Cagey, evasive, distracting, uncertain. E.g. If someone asks you the range, just tell them, tell them with a relateable anecdote, and make it true! - So whats the range? - i'm a big guy and i did a 60 mile round trip last weekend, no problem. - It feels light. - Sure is. Weighs in under X kilos. Lightest ebike on the floor. Next question!

    All - My sincere apologies. There is one part of this video that I have backwards -- Battens! In - Out? Turns out - for light winds you will go battens out to provide slightly more shape. Great review. Thank you. But I think the installation of battens in/out is inaccurate. Particularly with the 6.1m, If you need more power because wind is on the light side you take battens out. If you ride in powered conditions then you put the battens on. At least that was what Armie said in couple of videos about the XPS.

    I'm a kiter and wakefoiler currently using an Armstrong 85cm V1, CF1200, and 232 wing. I'd like to upgrade to something that is just as turny but that can handle some higher speeds without losing the low end performance. I'm often kiting in really light winds where it'd be nice to have better pumpability than the CF1200, but it would also be fun to ride at higher speeds. Does the MA 1000 or MA1225 sound like what I'm looking for? And perhaps pairing that with the Performance 865 and 205 stab? Or would you have other suggestions? It would also be fun to have a wing that can handle kite foiling airs, but that might be a different front wing entirely?

      @HALFLIFEVIDEO 2 месяца назад

      right on Matt -- very cool. The V1 CF1200 was a great foil in it's day. Characteristic of the CFs is a nice entry and exit out of a carve. In V2 CF1200 they made it thinner and faster. Much improved for pumping - same stability. So at a minimum - you could upgrade to V2CF1200 (we have them in stock). You have two great choices that will be in that same size/wind range -- MA1000 and the HA1080. I can not say enough good things about both these wings. The MA1000 is most likely the next foil progression for you. Tip breaches are no worries and it is an incredibly smooth up for wind sports. It pumps as well as the CF1200V2 but moves much faster through the water. The new HA s are incredible. Compared to V1HAs the stall speed is much lower and it's less technical to ride. It's a fast foil and pumps well. The HA1080 is all around awesome....but it is slightly more technical to ride than the MA1000. Feel free to give me a call to talk through it and we'll get you dialed. 909-698-0401 Cheers, Tim

    Was about to pickup the Gamma 68 Front Wing, 42cm Rear Wing; experienced wake surfer, a fit 50/yr old 195lber, you think I should go for more wing before I open up this package? like Infinity 84?

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO 2 месяца назад

      Hi @boverton72 -- a lot depends upon what you want to do and what your wave looks like. I personally don't recommend either....as you'll note this video was shot a while ago (in foil evolution terms...a long while ago). That said - if you have a wake surf boat -- at a minimum I'd go with the 76. The Gamma 68 won't give you much in terms of pumping. You'll be able to ride the first wave but outside of that you'll struggle. Other options to consider -- you can email me at halflifet.5@gmail.com -- I'd look at Axis and Armstrong's new Alloy system as well as Unifoil. If you go slingshot, upgrade to the G or PTM line -- you'll be glad you did. Get out there and don't over analyze it too much. The foil progression begins! Best Tim

      I love it! You'll make it happen. Just remember to have the driver pull you out of the water slowly. We have a video on how to drive for foiling -- ruclips.net/video/nX6KnJiMUuA/видео.html highly recommended. When you're starting it's a real partnership between rider and driver. You got this! Tim

    Do you think you can surf foil on a wakefoil board?

    • @HALFLIFEVIDEO
      @HALFLIFEVIDEO 3 месяца назад

      highly unlikely unless you are a fantastic paddler. Also depends upon the board you choose. An Armstrong WS4.0 for example could be surfed if you are a very strong paddler. Whereas a Armstrong WKT109 doesn't have the liter count. Hope that helps. Tim

    talk all you want but until i see someone try to get their foot into it i'm not sold .. the constant problem with plastic shells no matter what the fastening system is the inability to get them open enough to slide your foot in without contortions or hang ups .. so demonstrate it please ...
